Friday food

Yesterday was a day for lots of food. I started off the morning with an interesting treat. I a valencia and blood orange to make an orange salad, and then ate it with yogurt and granola. I liked the blood orange...I'd never had one before, so I was excited to try one.

While I was eating breakfast there was other eating going on. I decided to get a picture of that too. Behold the magic squirrel circle...

Last night for dinner we had coconut chicken curry with ginger, cauliflour, potatoes, and cashews. We ate it with Kashi pilaf and carrots roasted with olive oil and tarragon. I liked it, it tasted sort of like masaman chicken, but a good way to make it at home.

For dessert I made a blueberry and raspberry pie with streusell topping. I got the recipe here. I'll admit that I didn't exactly follow the recipe because I didn't have time to be waiting 8 hours or whatever it says to do, so I used most of the ingredients the way they said, but did a few things my own way and greatly reduced the waiting time. In the end I thought it turned out well. We put out what was left at lunch today, and all my relatives who tried it said it was very good. In a testament to this, the pie has now been completely devoured. I would actually like to make another pie soon.

Let me add, having had three pieces myself, that the pie was excellent! And I too am ready for another pie! Love, Mom
