Simply good

Last night for dinner we kept it simple. Dad cooked steaks on the grill, I caramelized some red onion, and we made a romaine salad with carrots. celery, parmesan, and caesar dressing. Dad was suspicious of my choice of red onions for sauteeing instead of a normal white or yellow onion, but I told him the red onion had a nicer flavor and he gave in. Here is:

For lunch today I decided to use up some of our leftovers from the weekend. I look a low-carb pita (did you know that they have 9 grams of fiber? much better than the measly 3 grams from a regular whole wheat pita) and cut it in half to brush it with oil and toast it lightly. After that I stuffed the two halves with healthy sounding fillings. In one half I had shredded chicken breast with leftover lettuce from last night and some more caesar dressing on top. The other half had Boar's Head ham, cheddar cheese, more of that lettuce, and some balsamic vinaigrette dressing. I thought they were both really good, and very different from each other.
