Dinner at Los Loros

Now that I have pictures from Zawn's camera I thought I could post a quick back entry about dinner tonight. It was my friend Evelyn's last night in town before she went back to California, so we had to get together for an impromptu "college friends" reunion. So, Evelyn, Zawn, Michelle, and I met up at my house and went to our old favorite: Los Loros. Zawn actually hadn't been there before, but she was the only one, so we'll just pretend she was accustomed to the attention we get when we go to Los Loros. I've been going there for longer than I can remember, and as a result many of the waiters there and the manager know me. However, they can't remember my name, so I am affectionately referred to as "la mala" (the bad girl). They really don't think I'm bad, it's all a joke, but my good humor and ability to converse in Spanish makes me all the more popular.
Even though it was a Friday night we were seated promptly after arriving at Los Loros (1248 Clairmont Road). We had a waiter that didn't know me, but Rodrigo, our favorite waiter, saw me immediately and came to visit us a few times at our table to keep things exciting. But enough writing, on with the pictures.

In this first one Michelle and I are shown with Rodrigo, who insisted that we take pictures with him to commemorate the experience. Where's the food? You ask. Well, Michelle is eating a chalupa (I love those), and if you look in the corner in front of me you can see three things. There's the salsa bottle to go with our chips, a large pitcher of margaritas, and behind all that, my dinner: a taco loco. The "crazy taco" is basically that, a very large taco in a huge crispy shell that is filled with meat, lettuce, and cheese (like their tacos). I think of it like a taco salad, but I guess chalupas fit that description a little better. Anyway, I like them both.

In this second picture we have Zawn and Evelyn modeling the industrial-sized bottle that Zawn got to go with her salad. Her salad originally came out with no dressing, so she asked for some. She wanted ranch; lots of it. Our waiter complied by bringing her the entire bottle; we were a little surprised. Oh, and Evelyn's dinner is hiding behind the chip basket, she had an enchilada. It was a memorable meeting thanks to all the amusing pictures of the occasion (many more than are shown here). Good old Los Loros pulled through again for college students on a budget getting together for dinner before parting ways again.
