Rainy change of plans

Tonight for dinner we were planning on cooking steaks out on the grill with roasted vegetables. It started POURING down rain soon after we were ready to start grilling, and thus we abandoned the grill and went for the skillet instead. The results were surprisingly good. The steak tasted better than a grilled steak, it was juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I've had grilled steaks that were like that too, but this one somehow exceeded my expectations. To go with it we had a roasted vegetable medley of onions, squash, asparagus, celery root, and carrots. It might have been somewhat autumnal for a rainy night in August, but it seemed to suit us all fine, and it really was good. Only half of the gigantic celery root left to be eaten!
